Roger Bezombes
French, 1913-1994

Bezombes has designed a monumental mural for the Paris Radio Symphonic Auditorium as well as tapestries woven at the Gobelin and Aubusson tapestry works.  In addition to illustrating books, the artist has written L’EXOTISME DANS L’ART ET LA PENSEE (Elsevier, pub.).  Bezombes’ works of art have been exhibited throughout the world, including shows at the Musee de la Monnaie de Paris; Musee Rodin, Paris; Biennale des Arts Graphique, Brno, Czechoslovakia and Aberdeen and Leeds, England.  His paintings and graphics are in the permanent collections of the Musee National d’Art Moderne and Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris and the Musee des Beaux Arts, Dijon, France.

EXHIBITIONS:
First exposition in Paris: Galerie Charpentier in 1938 (78 works); plus in museums in France.  Musée de la Monnaie in 1972, Exposition universelle de Montréal.  Centre Artcurial (1975).  Centre Georges Pompidou (1982).  International exposition in museums in French North-Africa, Chile, Argentina, Australia, and Brazil; USA (New-York, Los Angeles, Houston), Tokyo, Osaka.
