Edmond Louyot
German, 1861-1920Edmond Louyot was born in La Lobe in 1861 and died near Metz in 1920. He studied in Munich. He exhibited his woks frequently in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, and Vienna from 1880. He won many prizes and medals for his paintings. He is well known for his use of colors and his brush stroke. His favorite subject was soldiers in 17th century uniforms. He did paint genre scenes and landscapes as well.
