María Clotilde Sorolla García was born around 13 April 1889, in Valencia, Spain, and died around 19 Jun 1956, in Madrid, Spain. She is buried at the Cemetery of Valencia, as are several members of her family, including her husband, Francisco Pons Arnau (about 1886 to about 1948).

She was the daughter of the renowned painter, Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (1863-1823), and Clotilde García del Castillo (1865-1929).
