Jacques Petit
French, 1925-2019

Jacques Petit studied at the Ecole nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs from 1945 to 1951 under Desnoyer, St-Saens and Brianchon, and worked in Gromaire’s studio in 1950-1951.

He painted mainly landscapes, flowers, still-lifes and interior scenes. In 1964, he made a decorative ceramic panel 56 feet sq (17 metre) for the Ecole Joliot-Curie, and in 1973, another for the secondary school of Veynes (Hautes-Alpes).

He also took part in many solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Dijon, Besancon and Marseilles, and frequently in Switzerland and the USA.
