Johannes Van Ditten
Norway, 1848-1924

Johannes von Ditten is a Norwegian painter and specialized in Norwegian landscapes.  He attended the Norweigian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Christiania.  He entered the Johan Fredrik Eckersberg School of Painting. He trained with Knud Bergslien and Morten Mullerat the school. He then left for Oslo to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

Johannes exhibited throughout including at Royal Academy of arts in Copenhagen, as well as in several Salons in Paris.  He also exhibited at the Universal Exposition in Paris.

Johannes works can be find in many prominent collections and Museums throughout the world.

He caputures the grand scale and beauty of Norwegian landscapes as this painting is a fine example of his works.
