Leonce De Joncieres
French, 1871-1947

Leonce studied under Gerome, Bouguereau, and Merson

He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Francais, becoming a member of the society in 1902.

In 1897, he received a commendation, in 1907 a bronze medal and later a gold medal.

He was made a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur.

Joncieres landscapes are lit by a gentle sunlight, conveying a sense of calm.
