Marie-Paule Carpentier painted in oils and watercolours, notably views of Versailles and Breton landscapes. She exhibited examples of her work at the Salon des Artistes Français (becoming a member in 1896), at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (associate as of 1903), at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, and at the Salon d’Automne
