Henry Golden Dearth
American 1864-1918

Dearth studied with Horace Johnson at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Herbert, Aime Morot in Paris.  He was known for his French landscapes, he also painted in East Hampton and Long Island in the 1890’s.

Exhibited: Society of American Artists 1893 (Prize), Art Institute of Chicago 1889-1890 and 1910-1912, Paris Expo 1900, Pan-Am Expo 1901, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts 1902-1912, Boston Art Club 1904, Corcoran Gallery 1907-1908

A memorial exhibit after his death traveled to 19 museums and galleries.
